What are the main positions of The New Politics?

Our focus is on justice; for descendants of colonialism, for Amsterdammers seeking housing,
access to healthcare, for bullied children in education, for a better climate, and good accessibility. Policy must be
more humane, more social, more just, and focused on the daily lives of Amsterdammers.

Our positions stem from conversations with residents, neighborhood panels, and local initiatives. We listen to what is really
going on in the city and translate this into your voice in the council, proposing how things can be improved in practice that we then
present to the council.

Yes. We believe in focus, honesty, and feasibility. We do not promise unrealistic grand words, but concrete actions and policies
that actually have an effect. We are also honest if we fail to convince other parties of the position we
put forward. But we will not give up when it comes to systemic injustice.

To influence our positions, you must be a member of our party. By becoming a member of De Nieuwe Politiek,
we determine the priorities together and ensure that policy aligns with the wishes of residents.

But do you have a problem yourself that you are not receiving help with, or are you experiencing injustice? Then we would be happy to join you at your
kitchen table, your meeting, neighborhood discussions, panels, or political cafés to hear what is bothering you. You will also receive
an honest answer from us regarding what we can and cannot do for you. We do not make empty promises. Whenever possible, we will bring your
problem to the attention of others. If it is an institutional problem, we will ensure that it keeps appearing on the agenda.

Our core values and focus remain the same, but we continue to listen to residents, and new insights can refine policy.
Flexibility ensures that we remain effective and people-oriented. We advocate for 'evolving understanding' and intend
to act accordingly.
