Our positions

Inclusion and diversity

Safe and inclusive neighborhoods, with an active approach to discrimination and attention to vulnerable groups.

The New Politics stands for a society in which there is room for every group's own story, history, and culture.
We do this without encroaching on or restricting the space of other groups.

Our lead candidate has previously taken the initiative to secure apologies for the role of Amsterdam and the province
of North Holland in the history of slavery. However, the Netherlands dominated, oppressed
, and exploited many more peoples in its colonial past. Without encroaching on each other's historical experience and space, we believe that
space must also be created for the other peoples of colonial domination for recognition, processing, experience, and commemoration. There must be
room for every story.

The stories of every group come together in Amsterdam, which so characterize the diversity of Amsterdam. Throughout the entire history of
Amsterdam. Traditionally, there is room in Amsterdam for all groups, all cultures, and all faiths.

The current polarized society is moving more towards denying history and denying the right to exist
of others. But there must be room for everyone. In the small society of Amsterdam, we must know,
acknowledge, and collectively process each other's stories in order to arrive at a fruitful shared future. In doing so, we must also
interpret, process, and incorporate the historical story of the original inhabitants.

Those who are wronged have various names: antisemitism, anti-black, anti-Asian racism, Islamophobia,
colorism, homophobia, gender discrimination, ableism, etc. But it is all the same system of exclusion and racism. And this
takes place systemically and endemically in the labor market, the internship market, in healthcare, in law enforcement, in the judiciary, in
politics; in short, in society as a whole, with all the consequences that entails.

The New Politics wants.
