In conversation with the city

De Nieuwe Politiek is launching a series of neighborhood conversations in various districts of Amsterdam this month. During these meetings, we will engage in dialogue with residents about affordable housing, livability, and concrete improvements in the neighborhood.

Housing under pressure

Pressure on the housing market is high. Rental prices are rising, owner-occupied homes are unattainable for many people, and more and more Amsterdammers are experiencing uncertainty about their place of residence. At the same time, liveability is under pressure due to increasing congestion, pollution, and a lack of amenities.

Listen before deciding

With these conversations, De Nieuwe Politiek wants to listen to what is really going on in the neighborhoods. Not talking *about* residents, but *with* residents. What problems do they experience? What works? What needs to change? And above all: what solutions do they see themselves?

“We believe that good policy begins with listening,” said a spokesperson for De Nieuwe Politiek. “Affordable housing is not a luxury, but a basic right. And liveability is not a side issue, but the core of a strong city.”

Join in

The meetings are informal and open to everyone. Residents can share their concerns, put forward ideas, and engage in conversation with candidates from List 33.
